Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic had a chance meeting with Juventus manager Max Allegri while on vacation, according to La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com).

The Italian newspaper reports that the pair were staying at the same resort in Sardinia and they talked about the possibility of the Serbian moving to the Serie A champions.

It is believed that the 28 year old was convinced by Juve’s project and is now favouring a move to Turin above Inter Milan and Manchester United. For their part, the Bianconeri have now made the holding midfielder their top transfer priority.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport are reporting that the Italian side were also looking at Liverpool’s Emre Can and Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi but they have now settled on Matic.

The publication states discussions will be made more difficult due to Juve’s refusal to sell Alex Sandro to the Blues and manager Antonio Conte will hold out for €45million or £40m for the midfielder.
