Chelsea are interested in signing Monaco right back Djibril Sidibe, according to the Evening Standard.

The Blues missed out on Danilo to Manchester City earlier this month, and they have been looking at other targets to offer competition to Victor Moses on the right flank.

Southampton’s Cedric Soares has been considered a potential option, but Sidibe is a new name. The Frenchman only signed a new five year contract two weeks ago to stay at the Ligue One champions, which would suggest any move for the 25 year old would be difficult and expensive.

It is true that Monaco have looked to sell players for the right price this summer, but after having already sold Tiemoue Bakayoko to the Blues, and Benjamin Mendy & Bernard Silva to Manchester City for a combined £125m, selling Sidibe will unlikely be considered, especially after the French international demonstrated his willingness to stay at the club after signing a new deal.
