Chelsea have placed a €30m (£26.3m) asking price on defender Andreas Christensen, according to the Corriere Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com).

Despite performing well out on loan with Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach over the past two years, the Danish international may struggle for game time at centre back next season with manager Antonio Conte looking to add Roma’s Antonio Rudiger to his ranks.

Christensen could provide some depth to the squad though. He already has experience of the Champions League as well as the German top flight with Gladbach having qualified for the competition in both of the last two seasons.

Inter Milan are however believed to be very interested in signing the 21 year old this summer, and despite Chelsea’s valuation, it seems the Serie A club have not been put off.

The Nerazzurri are seeking to strengthen their centre back options for next season and with significant backing from their Chinese owners, the Suning Group, a move for Christensen could be made before the close of the transfer window.
