Brazilian news outlet Globoesporte are reporting that Chelsea have already agreed terms with Real Madrid right back Danilo ahead of a proposed move to Stamford Bridge.
The Evening Standard reported last week that the Blues were refusing to match Real Madrid’s valuation of £30.8m, with the club only prepared to bid £28m, but it seems the 25 year old looks set for a move to England.
The attacking full back was also being pursued by Juventus, who lost their first choice right back Dani Alves to Paris Saint-Germain, but Chelsea are now in pole position to sign the defender.
Danilo signed for Real from Porto for €31.5million two seasons ago but has not managed to displace Dani Carvajal as the club’s first choice right back under Zinedine Zidane. His attacking tendencies make him better suited for a wing back role, and Blues manager Antonio Conte obviously sees the Brazilian as a good addition to the squad to offer competition to Victor Moses who made the position his own last season.
