Chelsea may pursue a deal for Napoli full back Elseid Hysaj, according to Calciomercato.it journalist Salvatore Lavino.

The 23 year old is equally comfortable playing either on the right or left flank. Prior to his switch to Napoli in 2012, he played almost exclusively as a left back for Empoli in Serie B, but over the last four seasons for Napoli, he has been picked to play mostly as a right back.

Blues boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that the club made a last ditch attempt to beat Manchester City to the signing of Kyle Walker, while Brazilian full back Danilo has revealed he opted for City ahead of a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are certainly keen on signing a right wing back this summer and Hysaj’s 100+ appearances in the Italian top flight, as well as his experience of playing in the Champions League, could make him a candidate worth considering.

In addition to the Albanian, the Blues are also reportedly looking at Southampton right back Cedric Soares.
