Chelsea are attempting to hijack Ajax’s deal for Brazilian forward Richarlison, according to Daily Mail journalist Simon Jones.
The Dutch side are said to have agreed a £12million fee with Fluminense for the 20 year old but the Blues are believed to have entered the bidding at the last moment in order to encourage the Under 20 international to make the switch to Stamford Bridge instead.
Inter Milan and Sampdoria are also said to be interested in signing Richarlison but it had seemed that Ajax had won the race for the Brazilian. The late intervention from Chelsea may prompt the Italian clubs to try and make further offers of their own.
Richarlison only joined Fluminense 18 months ago from fellow Brazlian side America-MG for £2million, but his excellent performances have prompted a high level of interest from European clubs.
This season, the forward has played 17 times in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.
