Chelsea may switch their attentions to two Southampton full backs, according to the Evening Standard. Right back Cedric Soares and former Blues left back Ryan Bertrand are believed to be among the possible signings being considered by Antonio Conte.

After missing out on Danilo to Manchester City, and being frustrated in their attempts to sign Juventus full back Alex Sandro, it seems like the Blues are having to consider their options.

Soares was Portugal’s first choice right back during last summer’s European Championship triumph, and has spent the last two seasons on the south coast since joining from Sporting Lisbon.

Bertrand meanwhile only left Chelsea permanently for the Saints back in 2015. He had spent the best part of a decade at Stamford Bridge but was loaned to seven different clubs during his time with the Blues.

At 27 years of age however, he has begun to establish himself as a senior England international, and would no doubt offer some strong competition for Marcos Alonso.
