Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has told representatives from Marseille that he does not want to return to France at this stage of his career, according to RMC Sport.
Chelsea enquired about the Frenchman in the January transfer window, although they stopped short of making a bid for the 21 year old after being told of Celtic’s £40m valuation, according to Daily Mail. At the time, journalist Simon Jones reported the Blues may make another attempt in the summer to sign the striker.
It now looks like that Dembele is holding out for a move to the Premier League after rejecting Marseille. RMC report that the forward will only consider a switch to England or Germany.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers has already said that no deal will be considered until the Scottish champions have negotiated the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. They drew 0-0 at home against Norwegian side Rosenborg last night, and will have a fight on their hands to make it through to the fourth qualifying round of the competition.
