AC Milan have held talks with Chelsea striker Diego Costa’s agent in Sardinia, according to multiple media reports but a move to the Rossoneri is still unlikely, reports Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
Chelsea are reportedly asking too much for the 28 year old, and the player’s agreement to join Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window has made things far more complicated.
Pedulla reports that Milan are looking at Costa and Monaco’s Radamel Falcao but their primary focus still remains on signing either Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Torino forward Andrea Belotti.
Costa reportedly has a price tag of £44m but the lack of potential buyers may force the Blues into lowering it before the end of the transfer window.
Manager Antonio Conte revealed this week that he had made his mind up on Costa in January and that the player and his agent were “very clear” about the Italian’s intentions to sell last season.
