Chelsea are interested in signing Hoffenheim full back Jeremy Toljan, according to Sky Sports News.
A source told the TV station that the Blues, Arsenal and Tottenham are all watching the German Under 21 international. Out of the three clubs, Spurs are believed to be in pole position to sign the 22 year old as they seek a replacement for Kyle Walker.
After seeing Danilo opt against joining the Blues to make the switch to Manchester City, Chelsea are likely to be in the market for a right sided full back. The German is actually both footed and can be play equally well on either flank.
Toljan would cost a great deal less than the Brazilian however. The defender has just one year left on his contract at Hoffenheim and the Bundesliga club may be willing to sell for as little as £3m.
His lack of top level experience could count against him though, but the Blues maybe pursuing him as a backup option, hoping that he can develop and improve his game over the next few seasons.
