Bayern Munich have joined Chelsea, Real Madrid, Napoli and RB Leipzig in the hunt for Hoffenheim full back Jeremy Toljan, according to German tabloid Bild.

Toljan had a good European Under 21 Championships, and Bayern are always seeking to sign the best young German talent. They have already signed Sebastian Rudy and Niklas Sule from Hoffenheim this summer, but Bild believe Hoffenheim’s sporting director Alexander Rosen is reluctant to let anymore of the club’s best young players leave.

The Bundesliga club qualified for the Champions League after finishing fourth last season but their squad has been seriously depleted after the sale of a number of players this summer. They may not have much of a choice with Toljan though.

The 22 year old’s contract expires in 2018, and Hoffenheim may lose the player for nothing next summer if the defender does not sign a new deal. Toljan is capable with both feet, and could be seen as an ideal backup option for Blues manager Antonio Conte in either wing back role.
