Juventus are lining up a €40m (£35.4m) bid, plus bonuses, for Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper however report that the Bianconeri will have rivals to sign the 23 year old dubbed the “new Roberto Baggio.” Inter Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United are also keeping a close eye on the Italian international.

Despite Juve reportedly preparing to table a sizeable bid for the midfielder, it seems he is not the club’s preferred target. Manager Max Allegri’s number one priority is Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa, followed by Paris Saint-Germain’s Angel Di Maria, Bernardeschi and Lazio’s Keita Balde Diao.

Bernardeschi’s performances this season have been widely praised, and it is not surprising considering he scored 14 goals in all competitions last season, playing mostly from the right hand side.

He was given his international debut by Antonio Conte against Spain in March 2016, and he scored his first goal for his country in the 5-0 win against Lichtenstein last night after coming on as a substitute.
