A representative of Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne has spoken out about speculation linking the player with a move to Chelsea this summer.

The Sun have reported that the Blues want to make a £45m bid for the 26 year old but speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss in Naples yesterday (quotes via the Corriere Dello Sport), Franco Della Monica said that the Italian international is happy to stay at Napoli:

“I would start from the fact that the offer given by the Sun would be low, and he was always in the sights of many clubs. The priority for Lorenzo, however, was wearing the shirt of Napoli and to be rewarded in an important way by his team. Now he has both and he is happy as well.”

There was a lot of speculation surrounding Insigne’s future earlier on last season but once the player had signed a new five year deal back in April, rumours about a transfer began to die down.

The midfielder has spent his entire career with the Serie A club, with the exception of three loan spells, and it seems that unless Napoli receive a massive offer for the player, the winger looks set to remain at the San Paolo stadium for the foreseeable future.
