Anderlecht have joined the race to sign Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham on loan, according to VoetbalPrimeur.be.

The Belgian website suggest that the England Under 21 international could be an option to replace their current number nine Lukasz Teodorczyck who has been made available for transfer by the Pro League champions.

Abraham scored 26 goals in all competitions on loan at Championship side Bristol City last season, but it was assumed his next step would be a loan spell at another Premier League team instead.

Whether Abraham would be interested in a move to Belgium is open for debate. Belgian’s top league is probably no better than the English Championship, and it may be a wiser move to stay in England.

Newcastle are one of the clubs that have been heavily linked with the 19 year old but it seems like any decision will now be made after the European Under 21 Championships at the earliest. England play their first group game against Sweden tomorrow night with Abraham likely to feature.
