Porto will demand €40million (£35m) if a club wants midfielder Ruben Neves this summer, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese newspaper have consistently linked the Portuguese Under 21 star with a move to Chelsea or Liverpool in recent months, and they say his performances at this month’s European Under 21 Championships will push up the 20 year old’s asking price.

Neves impressed for Portugal in all three of their group games but his team narrowly missed out on goal difference to Germany for a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Porto see their star striker Andre Silva’s sale to AC Milan for €38million (plus €2million in bonuses) as a benchmark for Neves’s sale. Whether Chelsea are prioritising another central midfielder after the imminent arrival if Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, it is doubtful.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is believed to be after a centre back and a striker after landing Bakayoko, whilst a deal with Juventus left back Alex Sandro looks to be getting closer.
