Torino are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah for next season, according to Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Chalobah spent a season long loan in Italy with Serie A side Napoli during the 2015/16 season, and is well known to Torino boss Sinisa Mihaljovic for that reason. The Serbian is reportedly weighing up a move for the 22 year old, with Stoke City’s Gianni Imbula an alternative midfield target.

The midfielder played an integral role in England’s run to the semi-finals of the European Under 21 Championships but is unlikely to feature much in Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s first team plans for next season.

The imminent arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco to play alongside N’Golo Kante in the heart of the Blues’ midfield will mean Chalobah will likely have to spend long periods on the bench. Conte gave the English midfielder his club debut last season following six loan spells away from Stamford Bridge but it seems the player may have to move on for regular first team action.
