Chelsea have made an enquiry for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to L’Equipe (via the Daily Star).

The French newspaper report that the Blues, along with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan are all pursuing the 26 year old.

Chelsea’s interest in Lacazette could be a fallback option if they don’t sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer. For Arsenal however, the Frenchman is one of Arsene Wenger’s three key summer targets, along with Kylian Mbappe and Thomas Lemar of Monaco.

Lacazette’s figures over the past two seasons for Lyon have been very impressive. He scored 37 goals in all competitions last campaign, following on from the 23 he scored the season before.

A move to Atletico Madrid look set to go ahead this summer but the Spanish club’s transfer ban means the prolific forward is a prime target for a long list of top European clubs. He won’t be sold cheaply however with figures north of £50million only likely to be considered.
