Chelsea will rival Manchester City for Juventus full back Dani Alves, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with City in recent days with the BBC reporting that the 34 year old is a £5m target for manager Pep Guardiola.
It seems as though Blues boss Antonio Conte is also a big fan of the veteran as he seeks to strengthen his wing back areas for next season. Asked about the rumours linking him with a switch to England by Brazilian TV station Canais Esporte Interativo (quotes via Calciomercato.com), Alves was coy on his future:
“I felt I had to go to Italy. Here the football is very defensive, and to go to England you have to defend well. However, I hope I can still go to the Premier League. When? Who knows, let’s see.”
Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta has yet to comment on the rumours linking Dani Alves with a switch to England, but in the Corriere Della Sera newspaper over the weekend, he did confirm the club had rejected a “very high offer” from Chelsea for left back Alex Sandro. The bid was reportedly in the region of £52.5million.
