PSV technical director Marcel Brands has told De Telegraaf that he will talk to Chelsea about the possibility of signing midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a permanent transfer.

Brands revealed to the Dutch newspaper that PSV manager Phillip Cocu has spoken to the 24 year old about the prospect of joining the Eredivisie side, and that he will try and thrash out a deal with the Blues:

“Marco has had a positive conversation with Phillip Cocu. I am going to chat with Chelsea now to see what the possibilities are for [him]. It would be a good buy for us.”

Van Ginkel has been on two six month loan spells at the Dutch club over the past two years, and has impressed playing in the Eredivisie on both occasions.

On his first loan spell between January 2016 and May 2016, van Ginkel played 16 games, scoring eight times and providing one assist. After joining the Dutch club once again this January, the central midfielder went on to play 15 times, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.

Van Ginkel joined Chelsea from Vitesse Arnhem for £8m but has played just four times for the club since his arrival in 2013.
