After picking up a vital point against Liverpool during the week, Chelsea face another staunch test in the form of Arsenal this weekend…

A resolute and defensive came against Liverpool, with Chelsea pushed back for the first time this season, though Antonio Conte side’s proved that they have the defensive steel to go the distance.

On the night, whilst Chelsea and Liverpool matched up pretty evenly, a couple of players impressed – most notably David Luiz and N’Golo Kante – and that will surely give Conte confidence going into the clash against Arsenal this weekend.

The Gunners will provide a very different threat, though, with the individual brilliance of players like Giroud and Sanchez likely to cause problems for Chelsea – so Antonio Conte will need to pick the perfect team.

Given Chelsea’s stellar performance against Liverpool, you would expect a fairly similar team from the Blues – though a couple of bad performances could force the Italian to make a change.

With that said, this is the 3-4-3 Chelsea XI that Conte simply must pick against Arsenal

 GK – Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois is having the best season of his Chelsea tenure so far, and he is finally beginning to make good on his potential.

The Belgian is vital to this defence.

 CB – Gary Cahill

Gary Cahill, the Chelsea captain.

Cahill suffered with criticism earlier this season, but he has bounced back magnificently.

 CB – David Luiz

David Luiz was the man of the match on Tuesday night, and Conte would be wise to keep him in the side.

He looked unstoppable.

 CB – Cesar Azpilicueta

Cesar Azpilicueta performs well wherever he plays, and that is no coincidence.

He is so consistent.

 LWB – Marcos Alonso

Marcos Alonso has really stepped up lately, but with Ake on his toes – he’ll need to keep it up.

 DM – N’Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante will need to be on the ball, as Arsenal are so threatening going forward.

Vital to this midfield.

 DM – Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas will have as much motivation as anyone to win this game, with the Spaniard likely keen to get one up on his old club.

He has often been a game changer when he has played this season.

 RWB – Victor Moses

Who else?

Victor Moses has no competition in this position, but if he did – the Nigerian would still start every week.

What a season from him.

 LW – Pedro

Eden Hazard has simply not been good enough over the last few weeks.

The Belgian has it all, but if he isn’t performing – he cannot play.

Pedro, on the other hand, has been incredible – and simply must start.

 ST – Diego Costa

Diego Costa loves a game against Arsenal.

The Spaniard could redeem himself with a few big goals.

 RW – Willian

Willian has been excellent over the last few weeks, and Hazard’s relegation to the bench should allow him to get a start.

He was Chelsea’s player of the year last season, and that level of form is beginning to return.
