Antonio Conte has a few tough decisions to make ahead of this weekend’s clash against Arsenal…
After all, Chelsea were held to a draw against Liverpool on Tuesday, in a game that – based on form – Chelsea really should have won.
The Reds really turned up on the night and made it very difficult for Antonio Conte, and whilst a few players impressed – there were a couple of performances that were far below par.
Chelsea, for the most part, have played very well this season – but poor individual performances from a few players on Tuesday night cannot go unignored, especially against a team as good as Arsenal.
The game could be season defining, and the result could be determined on a couple of personnel changes from Conte.
With that said, Conte needs to drop these 2 Chelsea players against Arsenal this weekend – agreed?
Eden Hazard simply hasn’t been good enough over the last few weeks.
The Belgian is quite clearly talented, and on his day there is nobody better – but his day simply has not come often enough this season.
He has looked poor over the last few weeks, and given how well a few of his teammates have been performing, he doesn’t deserve to start against the Gunners.
Nemanja Matic looked poor against Liverpool, and his weaknesses were really exposed by the Merseyside-based side.
For the most part, the Serbian has looked good this season – but with question marks over his defending in such an important game, Antonio Conte simply shouldn’t take the risk.
Cesc Fabregas will be clamouring for a chance in the Chelsea first team, and now might be the chance to give it to him.
