Chelsea picked up yet another 3 points over the weekend, with a hard-fought victory over Hull City the latest victory for Antonio Conte’s men…

It was not as easy as expected, though, with Hull, who have just brought in a new manager in Marco Silva, seemingly determined to continue their momentum and get something from the game.

Fortunately for the Blues though, a couple of stellar performances from a few key men ensured that the points stayed at Stamford Bridge – and Antonio Conte was surely delighted with that.

In general, the Chelsea players have been consistently impressive this season, but against Hull it was a case of a few players standing out – and they certainly deserve credit for their fine performances on the day.

With that said, these 2 players were unstoppable for Chelsea against Hull City – agreed?

 Gary Cahill

With John Terry resigned to the bench, for now, Gary Cahill has stepped up and been made vice-captain in the current setup, and the Englishman has grabbed his opportunity with both hands.

Against Hull City, the defender continued his fine run of form – commanding his defence with the seniority that he has earned during his 5-year tenure with the club.

He has his critics, but he is doing everything right at the minute – and a goal to seal the points for the Blues was a good reward for his hard work.

 Diego Costa

There were a few question marks over Diego Costa leading into the game, but they have been firmly proven wrong after his performance against the Tigers.

Coming off of the back of a weekend off, Costa needed to come through with a big performance – and he did exactly that.

A goal in the first half ensured the Blues went into the break on top, and the Spaniard never stopped running thereafter.

A great performance.
