Antonio Conte has a few tough decisions to make ahead of Chelsea’s crunch clash against Tottenham…

The Blues have been performing fantastically this season, and whilst Conte has got his players performing well – anything can happen against the Lilywhites.

Games between the London rivals are always feisty affairs, and this fixture has more riding on it than most. Chelsea are looking to extend their lead at the top, whilst Tottenham will undoubtedly want to claw their way back into the title picture with a big win at White Hart Lane.

With a number of players back in the fold and considering the heightened significance of the clash, Antonio Conte must ensure that the players that he picks are right for the occasion – and that might mean dropping a few in-form players.

With that said, Conte simply must start these 2 Chelsea players against Tottenham on Wednesday…

 Willian

It’s going to be a very tough decision for Antonio Conte when it comes to his attack, with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa both shoe-ins for a start – leaving just 1 spot remaining.

Conte will be forced to pick between Pedro and Willian for the role, and whilst Pedro has impressed this season – we think that Willian has got to play.

The Brazilian offers a defensive stability that only he can, whilst also offering a goal threat – as he showed against Stoke City last weekend.

Pedro will be unfortunate not to start, but he isn’t defensive enough to play against a very impressive Tottenham attack.

Nemanja Matic

Cesc Fabregas has been fantastic in the heart of the Chelsea midfield in recent weeks, but against Tottenham it would make sense to play Nemanja Matic in his place.

Like Pedro, Fabregas isn’t as defensive as Matic – and that will be a problem against a side that has the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli in the attack.

Fabregas could come on late in the clash if Chelsea are behind, but Conte should have faith in his attack to perform well without his influence.

Matic makes the Chelsea midfield more secure – and that will be important.
