Conte simply must not start these 2 Chelsea players against Peterborough on Sunday

Whilst the FA Cup is a huge competition, Chelsea’s clash against Peterborough this weekend represents a decent opportunity for Conte to rest a few of his key stars…

The Italian has masterminded quite the run of form at Stamford Bridge, but he has done it by using a relatively small group of players. Players like Gary Cahill and David Luiz have been constants under Conte – and in less significant games, such as that against Peterborough this weekend, it might be time for Conte to make a few changes.

In truth, Chelsea should win the game comfortably, and they should be able to do so whilst resting a few of their more important players.

Chelsea have a pretty sizeable squad, filled with players of both youth and experience – and Conte would be wise to start using a few of his fringe players instead. Not only will this keep them happy, but it will give a few of the Italian’s regular starters a bit of a rest ahead of a busy run of fixtures. Squad management is important, and Conte simply must rest a few players this weekend.

With that said, Conte needs to rest these 2 players against Peterborough on Sunday…

 Victor Moses

Victor Moses has had a breakout season at Chelsea, and he shows no sign of slowing down.

However, despite the fact that his form is continuing to improve, a weekend off certainly sounds like a decent idea for the Nigerian. He hasn’t played this regularly for years, and that will surely be taking a toll on his body.

Conte doesn’t have a lot of senior options in the role, and so he is pretty reliant on Moses being fit for the second-half of the season, so he shouldn’t push him too much.

A youngster like Ola Aina could step in.

 Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard has looked back to his best in recent weeks, but he looked poor against Tottenham.

Compared to last season, the Belgian has undergone a rapid turnaround – regularly contributing goals and assists – and he has been vital to Chelsea’s turnaround.

Against Tottenham, though, the Belgian looked lazy and tired – and that could be down to the vast number of games that he has played. The winger needs a rest, and the game against Peterborough offers the perfect chance for that.

Chelsea have a number of alternatives, such as Pedro or Willian – or even Charly Musonda from the youth setup – and they could really do with the game time over the Belgian.
