Conte simply must not start these 2 Chelsea players against Brentford on Saturday

The FA Cup is always an important competition when Chelsea are involved…

The Blues have a storied history in the competition, and whilst Antonio Conte might have bigger fish to fry this season – a decent cup run is still of the utmost importance this season.

Of course, the Blues are flying high in the Premier League, and that surely must take precedence – and so on first glance, it might make sense to drop a few key players. However, with Brentford the opposition, Conte can’t be too confident going into the game – with the FA Cup often producing a few shock results with every passing round.

Instead, Conte might want to use the game to drop a few underperforming players – and with a number of young stars in the ranks waiting for a chance – could this be the perfect game to embed them within the Chelsea first team?

Games are going to come thick and fast over the next few weeks, and Conte must pick his Bradford team with that in mind, whilst also ensuring victory for the Blues.

With that said, it is time for Chelsea to make a few changes – and Conte simply must not start these 2 Chelsea players against Brentford on Saturday…

 Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard has, simply put, not been good enough over the last few weeks.

He was poor against Hull City, and it makes it all the more frustrating considering that we know how good he can be when he’s on form.

In truth, the Hazard of last season appears to be rearing its ugly head again – and this is something that Conte simply must avoid. After all, the Belgian was vital last time the Blues won the league – and he is going to need to perform if the Blues want to win the trophy back.

 N’Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante had an unusually poor game against Hull City, with the Frenchman’s often pinpoint passing causing the Blues more than a few problems defensively.

Now, of course, the Frenchman is allowed a bad game or 2, given how well he has played all season, but with so many important games coming up – he needs to be playing as well as he can.

Brentford are unlikely to offer much of a threat going forward, and so his defensive stability won’t really be necessary on the day. Instead, maybe Nathaniel Chalobah should be given a chance.
