Whilst the FA Cup is going to be an important competition for Antonio Conte this season, the break from Premier League action can often allow for a few young players to be given a chance in the first team…

With Chelsea’s games coming thick and fast, Antonio Conte must use the length and breadth of his squad – and that could mean going beyond the usual confines of the Chelsea first team.

Not only do some of his first team players need a rest, but the Italian also needs to ensure that he is making use of Chelsea’s youth academy – which has become the most successful in England over the last few years.

Undoubtedly, some of England’s brightest young talents are making a name for themselves in the Chelsea academy – and it is time that they started making a go of it in the Chelsea first team.

With the likes of Victor Moses, Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante, just to name a few, featuring heavily this season – this weekend’s clash against Brentford represents a chance for them to have a break – and a chance for a young player or 2 to come in.

With that said, Conte should gamble and start these 2 wonderkids for Chelsea against Brentford – agreed?

 Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke is, technically, Chelsea’s 3rd choice striker – but you wouldn’t know it.

The Englishman has hardly had a look in this season, with Diego Costa taking precedence so far.

This is particularly significant because the Englishman’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, meaning that Chelsea could lose the deadly forward at the end of the current campaign.

This is something that cannot be allowed to happen, and one way of preventing it could be by giving him some game time.

Brentford should be easy to overcome for the Blues, and Solanke could get a chance to shine.

 Ola Aina

Ola Aina is perhaps the least high profile member of the young English crop of players within the Chelsea first team, but the right-back has all the talent.

He has made a few sporadic appearances so far, and it would make sense for the Englishman to get a go from the start.

After all, Victor Moses desperately needs a weekend off.
