Conte needs to drop these 2 Chelsea players – agreed?

Chelsea have been spectacular this season – but Conte must continue to improve his side as the season progresses…

The Blues have beaten every challenge that they have been faced with over the last few months, but the signs have been coming over the festive period that other sides in the Premier League are beginning to work out Antonio Conte’s team.

A 2-0 defeat to Tottenham was certainly a wake-up call for Conte, and going forward – he will surely not take any fixtures lightly, regardless of opposition.

The one criticism you could have of Conte’s managerial style is that he has persisted with players despite the fact that they might not fit a certain fixture or their form might be beginning to disappoint – and this is something that must be avoided going forward.

Several players looked poor against Tottenham, including the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante – and it might be time for Conte to make a few changes.

With that said, Conte needs to drop these 2 Chelsea players – agreed?

 David Luiz

David Luiz has been better than anyone had hoped since he re-joined Chelsea – but in recent weeks, there have been signs that he is returning to his old self.

Not helped by an injury thought to be caused by Sergio Aguero a few weeks ago, Luiz has been playing through the pain barrier in recent week – and it has shown.

A couple of mistakes have cost Chelsea goals, with the Brazilian arguably at fault for both the conceded goals against Tottenham, and that is not something that Antonio Conte can allow going forward.

With Kurt Zouma now fit again, it might be time to reintroduce the Frenchman.

 Eden Hazard

Well, this one is certainly going to be controversial.

Eden Hazard has bounced back well from a poor season last year, but you honestly have to question whether he has really been good enough.

Both Willian and Pedro have been in outstanding form over the last few weeks, both outshining Hazard by some margin, and in truth – both players deserve to start.

Unfortunately for them, though, Hazard has had a free pass this year – and whilst he has scored and assisted – he hasn’t been at the level of either Pedro or Willian.

Conte needs to start players based on merit – and Hazard doesn’t deserve to start ahead of those 2 on current form.
