Antonio Conte surely learnt a lot from Chelsea’s latest game against Hull City…

It was far from Chelsea’s best performance, with the Blues struggling for much of the game, but 3 points are 3 points – and Antonio Conte’s men are slowly creeping their way towards the Premier League title.

Goals from Gary Cahill and Diego Costa were enough to seal the points for Chelsea, though they were far from dominant through much of the game.

In truth, Chelsea were lucky to be ahead going into the break – though they should have had a penalty early on after what looked like a foul on Pedro, which was not given.

It took until the closing moments for the Blues to seal the points, with Chelsea captain Gary Cahill stepping up to the plate as he so often has this season with the second goal.

Antonio Conte will likely have spent the last few hours reflecting on another pretty impressive result for the Blues, and he no doubt will have learnt a few things from the game.

With that said, here are 3 things Conte learned from Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Hull City on Sunday…

Commitment of Costa

Pundits and fans alike would likely have been doubting Diego Costa leading into the game, with reports linking him with a move away.

The entire week has been spent discussing the Chelsea future, or lack thereof, of the Spanish international – with many questioning whether he really wants to still be a Chelsea player.

Well, if his performance was anything to go by – he is 100% committed to the Chelsea cause. He was arguably the best player on the pitch for the Blues, with a performance that will leave absolutely nobody doubting his commitment to the cause.

Antonio Conte deserves a lot of credit for picking him.

Fabregas is Magic

Fabregas wasn’t on the pitch for very long, but what an impact he had.

His free kick is what led to Chelsea’s vital second goal, and his work rate and was impressive throughout the few minutes that he had on the pitch.

He can expect to start in the FA Cup at the weekend, and if he can put in another good performance – perhaps he can earn a start against Liverpool?

Good Start

The next few weeks are going to be season defining for Antonio Conte and Chelsea.

Liverpool and Arsenal are up next in the next two games, and if Chelsea can get 6 points from those – surely the title is ours.

A couple of good results could theoretically secure a title for the Blues, whilst a few defeats could take the wind right out of our sails.

Antonio Conte has done well so far, but he needs to ensure that his team is performing at 100% over the next couple of weeks.
