It’s time for Abramovich to try and sign these 2 midfielders for Chelsea this week – agreed?

Chelsea have been a bit quiet over the course of the January transfer window so far…

It was always expected, of course, given how impressive Antonio Conte’s side has been so far in the Premier League. They are currently standing tall at the top of the table, with each of Chelsea’s players putting in an excellent shift so far this season.

However, despite the good results – one thing cannot be denied. Chelsea have done well, but Antonio Conte’s squad is stretched very thin – and the Blues’ midfield is an area of particular concern.

Conte has largely had to opt for the same two players, N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic, in the heart of the midfield all season long – with no other player offering the resolute defending that the Italian demands.

As a result, it could be argued that the Blues need to bring in a couple of new faces in the middle of the park over the next few days. With a Premier League title fight on the horizon, Conte needs all the squad depth that he can get.

With that said, surely it’s time for Abramovich to try and sign these 2 midfielders for Chelsea this week?

 Ruben Neves

If Conte wants to look towards the future, he would struggle to do better than Ruben Neves.

Currently playing for Porto, Neves is a regular in the Portuguese side despite being just 19-years-old – and that says a lot about how good he is.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Neves is great with the ball at his feet – with delicate passing a particular strong suit of the 19-year-old.

He looks a cut above the rest in his native Portugal, and he really deserves a big money move.

The midfielder might need a bit of work, but he has all the talent in the world.

 Franck Kessie

The more you hear about Franck Kessie, the more you learn just how good of a fit he would be at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian midfielder is exactly what Chelsea are lacking. At present, Chelsea’s midfield is fairly laboured – N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic are far better when stationary than they are when on the move – which could be a problem.

In the past, Ramires has spearheaded the Chelsea midfield, and he has added some much-needed energy for the Blues. Franck Kessie could perform a similar role.

He is a box-to-box midfielder and would give Chelsea an extra edge both defensively and offensively.
