With Diego Costa’s Chelsea future looking increasingly uncertain, Antonio Conte’s thoughts must quickly turn to life after the talented Spaniard…

Costa has been in stunning form this season, and to be fair – Chelsea have been heavily reliant upon him. He has already scored 14 goals, and he was vital as Chelsea turned their form around earlier in the campaign.

However, Conte can’t be seen to let unhappy players run amuck around Stamford Bridge, and he is only going to have a negative impact amongst the players within the side – so a departure could very well be the best course of action.

The damage dealt by his departure will be shielded should Conte bring in an adequate replacement, and if the Express are to be believed – he has lined up quite the player. Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller is reportedly being considered by Conte in a £75 million deal – and what a move it would be.

With 20 goals in the Bundesliga last year, Muller is undoubtedly one of Europe’s best – and he would be perfect at Chelsea.

With that said, could this be the potential new-look Chelsea attack under Conte including £75m star Thomas Muller?

 LW – Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard has been up and down this season, but he is undoubtedly one of Europe’s best players.

Under Conte he has returned to form somewhat, especially when compared to last season, and whilst he has struggled in parts – for the most part, he has looked very good.

The Belgian offers a real threat down the left-hand side, and under Conte the defensive side of his game has improved exponentially.

Chelsea will need to work hard to ensure he stays at Chelsea, and if they can do that – he will only get better.

 ST – Thomas Muller

Thomas Muller has found himself out of proceedings at Bayern Munich this season, and so the groundwork for a departure is already there.

He doesn’t really fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s system, and with the prolific forward so used to playing regularly – his head could be turned should Chelsea become interested.

He would be perfect for the Premier League, and with Conte demanding hard work – Muller is the ideal player.

If Conte can land him, the transition from Costa to Muller would be seamless.

 RW – Pedro

Pedro seems to be the winger of choice under Antonio Conte, with Willian largely relegated to a bit-part role so far this season.

It’s easy to see why, too, with Pedro in stunning form for the Blues this year. He has got 5 goals and 5 assists so far, and his defensive work rate is stellar too.

He’ll need to work hard to keep his form up, but he is doing all the right things at the moment.
