Bye Begovic: These 2 players would be perfect for Chelsea if the 29-year-old leaves

According to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is the subject of a bid from Bournemouth…

The goalkeeper has largely taken a backseat at Stamford Bridge since his arrival, with Thibaut Courtois typically preferred in between the sticks for the Blues.

It is a shame, too, considering how impressive Begovic is a goalkeeper. Signed from Stoke in 2014, Begovic had made a name for himself in the Premier League as a stellar Premier League shot-stopper, and he was always expected to at the very least challenge for a position in the first team.

In reality, though, Courtois has often demanded a starting berth – and Antonio Conte, as the managers before him, have seen fit to give it to him.

Chelsea are, reportedly, considering allowing Begovic to leave, which could leave Chelsea in a bit of a perilous position. If he does go, Chelsea will undoubtedly need to consider signing a replacement – and it is a position that is notoriously difficult to find solutions for.

The good news for Antonio Conte is that we’ve got his back – and we’ve found a few options for the Italian.

With that said, these 2 players would be perfect for Chelsea if the 29-year-old leaves…

 Joe Hart

Joe Hart is the obvious replacement – and he would certainly be a good fit.

In terms of quality, there is no doubting that he is a stellar goalkeeper. He had a few poor performances during the tail end of his time with Man City, but since moving to Italy – he has regained his form.

What’s more, the vast number of trophies that the Englishman was amassed over his career speak for themselves – and you don’t get to be the man between the sticks for so long and win so many trophies by being a bad goalkeeper.

If he can keep his form up, he would be a great shout.

 Timo Horn

If Conte is looking more for a long-term solution, Timo Horn could be his guy.

An impressive young German goalkeeper, Horn has been impressive in the Bundesliga over the last couple of years – and a big money move abroad looks likely in his future.

An excellent shot stopper, Horn would be perfect in the Premier League, and though he would be raw – he could learn a thing or 2 from Thibaut Courtois for a few months.
