All eyes were on Diego Costa on Sunday, as they so often are – as Chelsea took on Hull City…
This game had particular significance on it, though, considering that the Spaniard has been in the press all week long. Reportedly keen on a move away, Costa’s commitment has been under the microscope, and it was unclear whether Antonio Conte would put him straight back into the first team against Hull.
The Italian decided to pick Costa on the day, and it was a very big call by the Italian – but his decision was certainly proven right.
Diego Costa was on fire throughout the 90 minutes, with a first-half goal undoubtedly the highlight of the game for the Brazilian-born forward.
He looked strong, eager and, best of all, committed – and the Chelsea fans around the world are, unsurprisingly, absolutely delighted.
As has so often been the case this season, the Chelsea fans on Twitter have spent the evening waxing lyrical about Costa’s fine performance, with nobody criticising the Spaniard anymore…
Diego Costa moved to China 9 days ago and is still scoring goals in the Prem. Unreal that.

Obviously Costa will get the plaudits for that goal. He deserves them but Alonso & Moses deserve a lot of credit in the build up. #CFC

It just had to be him. Celebrates by mimicking gossiping mouths with his hands. #CFC fans sing his name, he gives them a thumbs up.

Diego Costa is back – it’s almost like he never left!
We’re hoping he can bag a few more over the next few weeks and help see the Blues past Liverpool and Arsenal. How about you score a couple against the Reds and we’ll call it even, eh Diego?
