Whilst we expected Chelsea to challenge Man City, we certainly weren’t expecting what actually unfolded…

Chelsea looked poor in the first half, but an incredible turnaround after half-time saw Chelsea come out on top – in a game that Antonio Conte will not forget in a hurry.

Chelsea looked fantastic up and down the pitch as the game wore on, and whilst many teams would have folded under the intense pressure put forth by Man City – but Chelsea simply refused to give up.

A great second-half strike by Willian put the Blues 2-1 up, whilst a last minute goal from Eden Hazard ensured that the points would be coming back with Chelsea to the Stamford Bridge.

In truth, there is a lot of good that Antonio Conte can take from the game – and he will undoubtedly be delighted.

With that said, 3 things Conte learned from Chelsea’s unbelievable 3-1 Man City turnaround

 Fighting Spirit

That was the performance of Premier League champions.

Chelsea will have no tougher test all season than an away trip to Man City – and Conte’s men passed with flying colours.

They fought until the end, despite going a goal down in the first half, and Conte will take great pride in knowing that he has brought the fighting spirit back to the club.

If they continue to fight and perform like that – Chelsea will finish the season as champions.

 Willian

It was so good to see Willian back amongst the goals.

He has had a tough few weeks, and given that he has been unable to regain his place in the Chelsea first team – it was fantastic to see him get a bit more time this week.

We said before the game that he could hold the keys for Conte, and he proved us right with a fantastic goal in the 2nd half.

He could be back in the team next week, and you can get that he won’t let himself lose his place again.

 Diego Costa

We say it every week, but how good is Diego Costa?

The Spaniard keeps going from strength to strength, and he keeps proving just how important he is going to be for Chelsea’s title challenge this season.

Not only did he score, but he also proved just how important he is to Chelsea’s transitional play. He sets up goals, he holds up play, he defends – he does it all.

There is definitely an argument to be had to suggest that Diego Costa is the best striker in the Premier League right noiw – and that is very difficult to dispute.
