Antonio Conte masterminded yet another big win for the Blues against Bournemouth on Boxing Day…

With Christmas Day still fresh in the memory, there was no sign that the Blues had eaten too much – with Conte’s men in fine form throughout the game.

In the absence of key men Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante, the Blues stormed to victory – dispatching the South Coast side in a comfortable 3-0 win.

A host of Chelsea’s men were impressive, and in truth – the deficit could have been even more if the Blues were a little bit ruthless.

Conte must collect his thoughts and move on from the game quickly, but not before taking a few key takeaways from the game. After such a dominant victory, the Italian must be feeling good about the games to come.

With that said, 3 things Conte learned from Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth…

Reliance on Costa and Kante

There is no doubting that Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante have been vital for Chelsea and Antonio Conte so far this season – but just how crucial they have been remained a pretty significant question mark.

However, the Blues proved that they can more than cope without the talented duo – and that bodes well as the season progresses.

Cesc Fabregas performed well in the absence of the Frenchman, whilst the utilisation of Pedro as a false 9 also appeared to work.

The game proved that Conte has more than just a Kante and Costa shaped string to his bow.

 Pedro

We’ve already touched on it somewhat, but Pedro was in a different league against the Cherries.

He scored a couple of decent goals, which on their own were pretty impressive, but what’s more – his general play was just outstanding.

He worked hard, he defended, he attacked – he did it all.

Pedro looked like the next man to be sold at the start of the season, but now he looks as vital as Eden Hazard.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas looked set to be sold in January, but his Chelsea career has been reinvigorated in recent weeks.

The Spaniard has looked unstoppable in the heart of the midfield, and it makes you wonder why he was left out at the start of the season.

He has really improved his game defensively, and whilst it was never in any doubt – he has continued to be vital going forward.

How can Conte bring back the duo of Kante and Matic when the Spaniard is playing so well?
