The festive period is quickly heating up for Chelsea…
The end of the calendar year always brings with it a tough run of games in the Premier League, and the 2016/17 season is no different.
With games against Crystal Palace and now Bournemouth coming thick and fast, there has been no time for Antonio Conte to rest on his laurels.
Nonetheless, the Blues are in a pretty good place heading into Christmas. Conte’s men currently sit atop the Premier League, with a comfortable gap between them and 2nd place – and they are quickly becoming title favourites.
Chelsea fans around the world will no doubt be hoping that the Blues can keep their fine run of form going, but standing in their way is one of the Premier League’s most impressive sides.
Bournemouth performed well last season, but Eddie Howe has taken them to the next level this season. Currently sat in 10th place, Bournemouth look a shoe-in for a top half finish this season- and Conte will have his work cut out to ensure that the Blues return to Cobham with 3 points.
Conte needs to ensure his team selection is perfect, and we think that if he picks THIS 3-4-3 team, including a certain homegrown midfielder, then the Blues will surely beat the Cherries…
Thibaut Courtois will start this game as he has in every league game previously.
Unstoppable between the sticks.
Arguably Chelsea’s player of the year so far.
He has far exceeded expectations and will no doubt continue to do so.
Gary Cahill has bounced back from a poor few weeks, and will captain the side against Bournemouth.
The jack of all trades in this side.
He guarantees a good performance.
Marcos Alonso has had a shaky few performances against the big sides, but he has looked good against mid-table opposition.
Bournemouth shouldn’t be much of an issue.
Nathaniel Chalobah hasn’t been given a Premier League start yet, but this could be the game.
Bournemouth aren’t massively proficient offensively, so Kante won’t be necessary. Chalobah deserves a chance.
Cesc Fabregas has been on a roll lately, and that should continue against the Cherries.
He is vital to this team.
Victor Moses has been great this year, so you would expect more of the same.
Strong defensively and offensively.
Eden Hazard is back to his best, and Bournemouth will prove no problem for the Belgian.
Always expect a goal.
With Diego Costa suspended, Michy Batshuayi looks likely to get a run out.
He needs to score a few goals to stand any chance of keeping his place.
Pedro has looked a bit poor in recent weeks, so Willian deserves a game.
He will be unstoppable – he always is.
