Following a spell back in Brazil a few weeks ago, Willian has thus far been unable to regain his spot in the Chelsea first team.
It is, of course, understandable – as the Blues played well in his absence, but Conte must re-think his views.
Pedro has played well in recent weeks, but when Willian is on form – there is simply nobody better.
He needs to be given a starting berth this weekend so he can prove that he is back to his best. He was Chelsea’s talisman last year – and he can repeat that feat this season.
Diego Costa
There have been some suggestions that Diego Costa should this game out. After all, he had a difficult international break – and he is still just 1 yellow card away from a suspension.
However, it would be foolish for Conte to drop his star striker – because victory in this game is absolutely essential.
The Blues have got a tough few games ahead of them, and points are sure to be dropped. Middlesbrough represents a very winnable game – and Conte must ensure that he picks the best possible team for the clash.
