These 2 Chelsea players must be given new contracts immediately – do you agree?

There has been a lot of talk about impending Chelsea departures – but the Blues also need to ensure that they hold on to the players that they want to keep…

Tottenham have spent much of the season so far tieing some of their key stars down to long-term deals, and whilst that process is less exciting than a new signing – it is equally, if not more important.

There are a fair few players at Chelsea that have contracts that are expiring soon, and Conte must ensure that he does not miss out and get forced into letting them go on a free.

There have been calls for John Terry to be given a new deal, but thus far – he has done very little to prove that he deserves that. Time will tell if he can win a new deal out of the club, but for now – he won’t be included on this list.

Instead, this list will focus on a selection of Chelsea’s younger stars. They have all the potential in the world – and Conte must not let them go.

With that said, these 2 Chelsea players must be given new contracts immediately – do you agree?

 Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke is a young player that has largely fallen under-the-radar this season – but the risk of him leaving is quickly becoming a very real possibility.

Solanke rose to prominence as he formed a stellar partnership with Tammy Abraham with Chelsea’s various developmental groups – and he is every bit as good as his compatriot.

Technically, Solanke is Chelsea’s 3rd choice striker this season – and whilst he hasn’t featured thus far, he could be a key part of Chelsea’s campaign towards the end of the season.

His contract expires in at the end of the season in 2017 – and that means he could agree a free move away as early as in the new year.

Chelsea need to solve this issue – and fast.

Nathaniel Chalobah

Nathaniel Chalobah is a player that looked unlikely to progress at Chelsea, but Antonio Conte has seemingly seen something in the young midfielder.

He now finds himself as a key part of Chelsea’s midfield and has been given a fair few minutes so far this season.

He is still just 21-years-old, so time is on his side – and you can expect him to begin starting more games towards the end of the season.

That makes his contract expiry date of the summer of 2018 all the more worrying.

The Blues have an extra year to solve his issue over Solanke, but given that Chalobah is really progressing this year – it makes sense to tie this deal up sooner, rather than later.
