With the international break now at an end, it is back to business for Chelsea…

After a stellar start to the season, the Blues’ next challenge is a tough away trip against Middlesbrough – in a game that Chelsea will be expected to win.

On previous form, Conte’s men should be able to walk to victory – but the international break has put a halt to the Blues’ impressive flow of momentum.

There are several players within the Chelsea squad that did not play a part during international duty, and their performances in training could well have turned Conte’s head – but he must hold his nerve.

Chelsea have been on a roll, and despite pressure – he must keep the glue of his team together against a tough Middlesbrough side.

With that said, Conte simply must not start these 2 Chelsea players against Middlesbrough – agreed?

 John Terry

John Terry is Chelsea’s captain – and for over a decade, he has been the man upon which the Blues can rely.

However, at 36-years-old, Terry is past his best – and it is time for him to take a step back.

There will always be calls to reinstate the veteran Englishman, but at present – Conte simply cannot make any changes to what is a winning and successful formula.

He is still Chelsea’s captain – but he will be captain from the bench.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas has been injured over the last few weeks, but his lack of involvement in the Spanish national team will have given Antonio Conte a chance to see what he can really do.

Nonetheless, like with Terry – Conte simply must allow his players to do the talking on the pitch.

Both Kante and Matic, whom would be contenders for Fabregas’ spot, have impressed this season – and Fabregas is not defensive enough to take up that mantle.

A role from the bench will be best for the Spaniard.
