Conte simply must sign these 2 German defenders in January – agreed?

Defensively, Chelsea could do with a few January improvements…

Antonio Conte has led the Blues fantastically thus far, with Chelsea far exceeding expectations at present.

Much of that has been down to a stellar formation change that has seen some of Chelsea’s faltering stars return to form – and that has duly seen Chelsea return to the upper echelons of the Premier League.

The risk still remains, however, that some of Chelsea’s less consistent stars could still pose a problem for Antonio Conte – and that is something he should look to fix.

Chelsea’s defence is, undoubtedly, the weakest point of the Blues first team – with the likes of Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry and Luiz all proving inconsistent as of late.

Should Conte look to solve this problem, there are few better nations to look towards than Germany. The Germans have become renowned for their esteemed defences; and the current crop of German stars has some of Europe’s best.

With that said, Conte simply must sign these 2 German defenders in January – agreed?

 Niklas Sule

If Conte is looking for an heir-apparent to John Terry – look no further than Niklas Sule.

The German stalwart stands at a towering 6ft5  – but he is far more mobile than the current Chelsea skipper.

Powerful in the air whilst remaining technical with his feet – there are few better young centre-halves in Europe.

He may be just 21, but he has already made over 80 Bundesliga appearances – and he would be a fine acquisition for the Premier League.

 Jonas Hector

Chelsea have been solid on the left-hand side so far this season, with Marcos Alonso impressing for Conte – but the risk comes should the Spaniard become injured.

He is the only option that Chelsea have on that side of the field, and his role has become a very important one.

Therefore, it makes sense that Chelsea should look to sign a player that can rival him for the role – and there are few better options that Jonas Hector.

The quick, technical and driving left full-back is not a natural defensive winger – but nor was Victor Moses; and look how that turned out.

If Conte can work his magic on Hector – he could be perfect.
