3 reasons why Chelsea should not give Diego Costa a new contract – agreed?
Contract Length
Diego Costa’s Chelsea contract expires in 2019 – which is still 3 years away.
There is absolutely no rush to tie Costa down to a new long-term contract when over half of his previous deal still remains – and it simply does not make financial sense.
You could understand Chelsea wanting to renew his deal amid Atletico interest if there was a risk of him leaving for a free – but that simply isn’t the case.
A new deal would inevitably mean a pay-rise – and that would make no sense.
