Plucked from Wigan a few years ago, Victor Moses’ Chelsea career never seemed to get going. A bit part role after joining was followed by a succession of pretty poor loans – and in truth, his Chelsea career looked over.
He looked good during pre-season under Mourinho, and repeated that feat under Conte, but nobody expected him to get a chance – but then he did.
Antonio Conte saw something in him, and since that point – the Nigerian has duly repaid the Italian boss.
A formation switch promoted Conte to utilise Moses on the right-hand side as a wing-back, and his rise has been simply astounding.
A few weeks of consistently excellent performances were capped off by another goal this weekend, in a winning effort against Tottenham no less – and Conte looks to have finally brought the best out of a player that everyone had high hopes for a few years ago.
He is putting in excellent performances seemingly every single week – and the Chelsea fans are loving him, especially after another impressive display against Tottenham.
