3 players that Chelsea definitely should have sold already – agreed?

Chelsea are a team on the up, and unfortunately – a few of their players are definitely on their way down…

Last season was no anomaly for the Blues. Sure, a few of Chelsea’s often consistent stars were woefully out of form – but the problems at Stamford Bridge go so much deeper than that.

It is no surprise that Antonio Conte has not been able to turn Chelsea around quickly this season – the fact of the matter is that some members of the Chelsea squad are simply not good enough anymore.

Whether it be through age or a simple lack of quality; some players just aren’t cutting it.

Conte needs to completely rebuild Chelsea’s squad – and that process needs to begin in January. The Blues must continue to upgrade their squad cyclically if they want to succeed from here on out.

With that said, here are 3 players that Chelsea definitely should have sold already – agreed?

 Pedro

Pedro was a very exciting signing. Not often does a player get plucked from Barcelona, but Chelsea managed to do it twice in as many years.

But whilst Cesc Fabregas joined Chelsea in great form, Pedro has never been able to find his; and he has had to settle for a bit-part role in the Chelsea first team as a result.

He has never really adjusted to the Premier League, and at this point his place in the squad would be better served by enlisting someone more suited to English football.

Pedro is no youngster anymore, and the Blues must look to sell him before his resale vale depletes.

 Branislav Ivanovic

Branislav Ivanovic has been an excellent servant at Chelsea – but the fact of the matter is that he is not good enough anymore.

The Chelsea vice-captain was a weakpoint in the Chelsea first team last scene, as opposition teams recognised his vulnerability and exploited it for their gain.

As time goes on, he only seems to be getting worse – and Chelsea must not allow that.

Ivanovic’s days as a starter are over; and the Blues should look to move on from their once unstoppable Serbian.

 John Obi Mikel

This one is a difficult one, because John Obi Mikel means so much to so many Chelsea fans. He always performs when called upon, and his performances en route to the 2012 Champions League final are legendary.

Even last year he was fantastic when called upon to replace Matic.

However, the Nigerian hasn’t had a look in so far this season, and despite having returned from Olympic duty several weeks ago – he has yet to appear in the Chelsea match day squad.

Perhaps most frustrating is that his contract will expire at the end of the season, meaning the Nigerian will be able to leave on a free.

He isnt a bad player, in fact quite the opposite – but Chelsea have left it too late to move him on; and now they will suffer as a result.
