Antonio Conte has a wealth of options available to him away from Stamford Bridge…

Chelsea’s armada of players on loan has been well documented, and the so-called ‘Loan Army’ includes some of Europe’s brightest young talents.

Several members of the 38 man group are receiving plaudits throughout Europe – whilst Chelsea’s first team continues to struggle.

Certainly, many of these players are still developing and are not yet at their peak; but a return to Chelsea could benefit both parties.

They could immediately come into the first team, whilst the Blues can benefit from their extraordinary talent.

With that said, here are 3 Chelsea loan players that Antonio Conte should consider recalling in January

Lewis Baker

Lewis Baker is an understated Chelsea loanee, and has received very little fanfare in comparison to a few of the players away from Chelsea – but he is by far one of the most consistent.

Operating as a number 10, Baker is dynamic and explosive going forward – and has the very rare trait of being able to play with both feet, which makes him a nightmare for defenders.

He is also a set-piece specialist – something that Chelsea have lacked as of late.

He has clearly outgrown the Dutch league; he needs to make the step up – and a return to Chelsea could be perfect

Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham’s exploits in the Championship with Bristol City have been well documented in recent weeks, with the English forward currently the highest scorer in the Football League.

Granted, the Championship is a completely different animal to the Premier League – but Abraham is a natural goalscorer; and he will score wherever you put him.

Premier League, Championship, Serie A – it doesn’t matter. Abraham will score.

It will only be of benefit to him for Abraham to be playing around players like Diego Costa every day in training. He is good enough – give him a go.

Andreas Christensen

Danish defender Andreas Christensen has been lighting fires both domestically and continentally in recent weeks; with the on-loan Chelsea defender currently plying his trade for Borussia Monchengladbach.

He has become a key part of their defensive dynamic and has dominated some of Europe’s best forwards in European competition.

All the while, Chelsea are struggling with defensive depth – and looking hugely disappointing at the back.

Christensen could come into the Chelsea first team and immediately improve it.

Make it happen, Antonio.
