3-4-3: This Chelsea team will obliterate Leicester City on Saturday

It has been a mixed start to the season for the Blues…

An impressive start has been forgotten after several poor displays against Arsenal and Liverpool – but the Blues went into the international break brimming with confidence after an impressive display against Hull.

Next up for Antonio Conte is a crunch clash against Premier League champions Leicester City – who have also enjoyed a mixed start in their quest to defend their Premier League crown.

They were never going to be able to live up the heights of last season, but the Foxes still pose quite a significant threat for Conte, and he must pick the correct team to deal with the threat at hand.

A formation change against Hull did the trick for Conte – and he should enlist a similar setup against the reigning the Premier League champions.

With that said, 3-4-3: Is this the Chelsea team to beat Leicester City on Saturday?

 GK – Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois has not been at his best in recent weeks, but he will continue in goal for the Blues.

The Belgian looked good for Belgium in midweek, and you can always expect a wonder-save.

 CB – Gary Cahill

Despite facing the brunt of the Chelsea faithful for his mistakes in recent weeks, Cahill came back with a decent performance against Hull before the international break.

Playing as part of a 3 man defence could be the start of something special for the Englishman.

 CB – John Terry

Chelsea’s captain is back in training, and he will likely be thrust straight back into the Chelsea first team.

The whole team gets a lift when he’s playing – and he immediately makes Chelsea’s defence better.

 CB – David Luiz

David Luiz has actually looked good since his arrival, and alongside JT you can expect him to continue to improve.

 RWB – Cesar Azpilicueta

Back on his more natural right-hand side, Azpilicueta will play slightly further forward in this formation.

This will allow him to get forward more often, and offer a threat down the right-hand side.

 DM – Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas deserves a chance to impress, and this game could offer that opportunity.

Matic has been okay, but he has not done anything to warrant him as undroppable. Give Fabregas a chance, and he will prove his worth.

He bagged a double against Leicester a few weeks ago – expect the same.

 DM – N’Golo Kante

The ex-Leicester man will return to his stomping grounds and will look to show the Foxes what they’re missing.

 LWB – Marcos Alonso

At last – a natural left sided player on the left-hand side of the Chelsea defence!

Playing further forward, Alonso will be a threat in the attack – but he will have to ensure that he is strong at the back too.

 RF/RW – Pedro

With Willian out of the game, Pedro could make a rare appearance from the start.

He will need to have a good game, or he’ll be straight back onto the bench next week.

 ST – Diego Costa

The standout player in the Chelsea first team so far this year. He is prolific and always looks a threat going forward.

Expect another goal.

 LF/LW – Eden Hazard

A top performance in mid-week will give him a much-needed boost, and he should look to replicate that form domestically.

He needs a big performance.
