Willian has been, without doubt, the most important member of the Chelsea first team squad over the last year.

It was down to the Brazilian midfielder that the Blues weren’t battling relegation last season, with the 28-year-old in electric form throughout the campaign.

His role in Chelsea’s first team last season gave cause for concern towards the end of the season, after he began to be linked with a move away from the club, with PSG reportedly scouting him ahead of a potential summer move.

Now, several months down the line, the Brazilian winger has confirmed that he was never going to leave the Blues – and even suggested that he would like to end his career with the club.

He said: “I read some things in the press on this topic but personally, I never received a concrete offer from PSG”

He added: “I am growing in a team that plays beautiful football, something which is important in my eyes”.

The Brazilian appears happy in London, and he also confirmed that he would like to remain with Chelsea for the foreseeable future: “I intend to see out my contract…it would be a privilege to finish my career at a club as big as Chelsea”.

Wow. A huge statement of intent from the Brazilian maestro.

It doesn’t look like he will be leaving the Blues anytime soon – and we couldn’t be happier. He is easily one of the first names on the team sheet, and if he can even close to the form that he had last season – the Blues will be in for a top year.

The Brazilian scored an impressive 5 goals alongside 6 assists in the Premier League last season, and also picked up an incredible 5 goals in the Champions League.

He has started this season in good form too, having already picked up 2 goals.

Any excuse to throw in a Willian compilation…
