Chelsea and Manchester City are eyeing up a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.

The 27-year-old has been gaining attention after an incredible season last time out, in which he netted 36 times in 46 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

He has also started this season in similar fashion, scoring seven times in nine appearances, and this excellent run of form has only intensified the interest in the Gabon international.

Antonio Conte and City boss Pep Guardiola look set to battle it out for the in-demand attacker, with the latter particularly aware of Aubameyang’s capabilities after a spell at Dortmund’s rivals Bayern Munich over the last few years.

However, Conte is clearly keen on bolstering his own attacking options at Stamford Bridge, especially if he parts with either Eden Hazard or Cesc Fabregas in a bid to bring Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci to West London.

Although going forward is not an immediate area of concern for Chelsea – only four teams have scored more than them so far this season – signing a player like Aubameyang would be a huge statement to the rest of the division as they look to regain the Premier League title.

Chelsea fans – would you like to see him at Stamford Bridge?
