As with every week, Chelsea have been in the news this week with reports of a number of transfers…

The Blues are currently on a good run of form, with a 4-0 demolition of Man Utd undoubtedly Chelsea’s best game of the season so far.

Despite Chelsea’s good form, Antonio Conte will be looking forward with one eye on January, and in particular – with one eye on who he might bring it in the new year.

Chelsea’s squad is far from complete – and a number of key acquisitions could be on the cards.

Likewise, Conte must also look at the squad currently at his disposal and decide who may be surplus to requirements; with a number of Chelsea stars linked with moves away recently.

With that said, 3 of the biggest Chelsea-related transfer stories you need to know about…

Romagnoli to Stay

The first piece of news will come as a blow to the Blues, with long-term target Alessio Romagnoli confirming to Sport Mediaset Premium (via the Sun) that he won’t be leaving the club and that he is committed to the AC Milan project.

Chelsea’s pursuit of a new central defender has been long documented, and Romagnoli appeared to tick all the boxes. Tactically astute, young, technical – he was the perfect man for Conte.

It would appear that this deal is dead.

Cesc Fabregas to City

This deal has come somewhat out of the blue, and it will not please Chelsea fans.

The Sun are reporting that Pep Guardiola is keen to bring Cesc Fabregas to Man City, as he looks to solve his creative issues.

Cesc Fabregas hasn’t been playing for the Blues much this season, but to sell him to the Citizens would be a huge mistake.

He can definitely still do a job for Chelsea this year, and Antonio Conte must utilise him.

Remember when he won Chelsea the title alongside Diego Costa? Now imagine him alongside Sergio Aguero…

Unstoppable.

Ben Gibson to Chelsea

Now for a slightly better story for Chelsea fans – and this one comes in the form of a positive move from the Blues.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson – who the Blues are reportedly keen on signing.

Gibson, whilst not a particularly high profile player, is one of the Premier League’s most impressive breakout talents – and he would tick a number of boxes for Conte.

The most important of these would be the fact that he is homegrown; and that could point Conte towards him over other targets.

This has all the makings of a deal – and a great one at that.
