Over the last few days, Chelsea starlet Andreas Christensen has been linked with a Blues departure – with some of Europe’s top clubs seemingly keen on the youngster…

Christensen is yet to make an impact at his parent club, but the young Dane is proving to be quite the hit in Germany, where he is currently on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach.

His performances over the last few months have, expectedly, drawn the attention of a number of suitors across Europe – but the Blues have seemingly been quick to stamp out any suggestion of a departure.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will not sell Christensen under any circumstances, despite interest from across Europe.

Whilst the Sun reported yesterday that Barcelona were keen on the defender, the Daily Mail are reporting that they have been joined by the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City too – signaling that the youngster is in high demand.

The Daily Mail add that Chelsea hope to embed the young defender into the Chelsea first team next season. This is particularly significant, given the likely departures of both John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic at the end of the current campaign – whilst Gary Cahill’s Chelsea future also looks uncertain after a poor run of form.

Ironically, the Blues could have done with Christensen this season too. Whilst the Dane is making a name for himself against some of Europe’s best strikers in the Bundesliga, the Blues have struggled defensively – and were forced into re-signing David Luiz at the start of the season.

With Antonio Conte seemingly looking to re-shape Chelsea’s back-line into a 3 man central defensive trio; Christensen could be perfect alongside Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma.
