Granted, this is his first foray into first team football; but Abraham has been lighting fires throughout Chelsea’s developmental system for years – and he has built quite the reputation amongst the Chelsea faithful.

At this rate, Abraham is set to be a superstar in no time; so you need to get to know exactly who he is.

With that said, here are 3 things you need to know about 19-year-old Chelsea sensation Tammy Abraham…

History

Abraham joined Chelsea at the age of 7 in 2004, and has remained with the club ever since.

His incredible goalscoring record began from a young age, and he scored goals right through until he left the system for the first time to join Bristol City in the summer.

Despite being just 19 years old, Abraham has quite the impressive trophy collection – having picked up a number of winners medals during his short career.

He has won the FA Youth Cup twice, in 2015 and 2016 respectively, whilst he also picked up back-to-back UEFA Youth League winners medals in the same years. Quite the haul.

At just 19-years-old, Tammy Abraham has a lot of history still to make…

Goalscoring Record

You might think that Tammy Abraham’s goalscoring record this season is incredible, but you’ve seen nothing yet.

En route to a number of cup victories at youth level, Abraham has had quite the remarkable goalscoring record.

During the 2014/15 season Abraham was particularly prolific, scoring an incredible 32 goals in 26 appearances throughout the campaign.

All those goals and that is even without considering the small matter of the 11 goals he has scored for Bristol City in just 14 games so far this season. Incredible!

Style of Play

Tammy Abraham is your typical number 9. He thrives on the shoulder of the last defender,  and is often seen running in behind the opposition defence.

However, he is not limited in that fact. He is pacey, skilful and technically gifted – as he displayed with his pair of goals for the England under-21s in mid week.  He is also aerially proficient, standing at 6ft2 – making him a threat from all angles.

Whilst he is well versed at playing as a lone striker, one area in which Abraham shines is his versatility. He can play as a number 9 to devastating effect, but he can also dominate as part of an attacking duo. He formed an excellent partnership with Dominic Solanke during his time in the Chelsea youth system as the pair lead Chelsea to victory with their frightening goalscoring tally.
