Lewis Baker is quickly becoming the most interesting player in Chelsea’s 38-man strong loan army…

The young Englishman has been touted for big things in recent years, with his uncanny ability to use both feet and his immaculate delivery from a set piece; but this season has, thus far, been a real coming of age for the England under-21 international.

He has been scoring on a near weekly basis, and a tidy finish over the weekend has taken his tally to an impressive 6 goals in 10 league appearances.

Baker has always been a set-piece specialist, but this year he appears to have honed in on that – and he is beginning to look absolutely deadly; particularly from free-kicks.

This week’s goal offers another look at that, with a pinpoint free-kick ending up in the back of the net.

What a brilliant finish! He just keeps doing it!

Last season was a bit of a slow one for Baker, and he was lost in the shuffle amongst the emergence of players like Ruben Loftus-Cheek; but this goal proves that he is every bit as good as his English compatriots.

Antonio Conte will find it impossible to ignore him if he keeps scoring like that!

The Blues could really do with him at Stamford Bridge, given their lack of success from set pieces as of late…
